Initially, our intent was to replace the playground with a similar structure that maintained the spirit of the community through a community build process. Of course, as time passes, so do the regulations by which we must adhere. Therefore, due to circumstances beyond our committee’s control, we are refocusing our efforts on a new prefabricated playground design with a company that has done work at Caroline Street and Dorothy Nolan. The newly designed playground will allow us to move forward with the project in a timely manner with a completion date this coming spring. Additionally, we feel that our fundraising and volunteer efforts have been exhausted and we are all eagerly anticipating the completion of this project.
Although our design has gone through some changes over time, we want to assure you that we will continue to honor our sponsorship pledges. If you have sponsored a specific component, we will work to include a comparable component in the new design. The donor board will still be included in the design, in addition to the tile and pickets previously sold.
We are truly thankful to our Greenfield families and community for their contributions to this project. As always, the public continues to be invited to work with us. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30PM in the GES library. You can also keep abreast of the project by following our website at www.greenfieldplaygroundproject.com.
